Since growing up on a small freshwater island in Maine, books & the characters in them have taught me more about what friendships are about than the people with whom I have interacted since then.

Cornelia Funke shows us a tough reality, one that I would like to think it doesn’t exist. I guess this is the reason why we can easier find true friends in books than in real life, don’t you think?

A book is always there for you. When it comes to real people, it is debatable.
